Leveraging Social Media
We asked several teachers new and experienced with Social Media in the classroom "How has an engagement with social media changed your (or your students') classroom experiences?"
"It helps keep the kids focused on task completion, show other classmates what they're working on (even if they're not in the same period) and it helps me to follow along." - D. McCabe
"Students are aware of when and what is going on. Also, students get to see who is at conferences, what we are talking about and who has notable performances." - A. Ozmanski
But really, all of the positives of social media should be seen instead of talked about, so we wanted to take the rest of this opportunity to highlight some of the wonderful posts Sandburg Teachers and Administrators have shared over the past year.
None of these opportunities would have been possible without teachers, students, administrators, and parents that are willing to share their stories with everyone in the world. If you are interested in setting up a twitter (or any other social media account) that is used for sharing your classroom experiences, please do not hesitate to contact one of your Technology and Innovation Facilitators.
